Poet. Born in Kochanovce, Slovak Republic, he began writing poetry as an undergraduate when his first poem was published in the Slovak National newspaper. Through his writings, he devoted himself to the expression of contradictions between the world and the heart, with dreams and reality Among his works were “Birches” (1910), “Rosa and Thorns” (1921), “Squadron sudba Waving” (1927), “Through the Veil” (1927) and “Selections from the poetry of Vladimir Roya” (1935). He also was noted for his translations. He translated the libretto for operas in six foreign languages, especially in English, German and Hungarian. He died at age 51 in Slovakia, Slovak Republic.
