Jerome "Jerry" Parker, 51, of Troy, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at
Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy.

He was born February 27, 1955 in Bloomington, Indiana, the son of the late James L. and Marilyn J. (Pegg) Parker.

He is survived by his former wife and friend, Julia E. (Harmon) Parker of Troy; son Joseph L. Parker of Troy; daughter Megan R. Parker of Troy; brothers Jeffrey Parker and Jay Parker both of Troy; sister Donita Thayer of Troy; nieces Elizabeth Valerio of Dayton, Ohio, Dana Thayer of Jacksonville, Florida, Jessica Parker of Piqua, Ohio; and nephew Danny Parker of Covington, Ohio.

Mr. Parker was a 1973 graduate of Troy High School and he attended the Kettering College of Medical Arts. He was a respiratory therapist at Community and Mercy Hospitals in both Springfield and Urbana. He served in the US Army and more recently was a volunteer at the St. Patrick Catholic Church Soup Kitchen.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday at Baird Funeral Home, Troy. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Troy. Visitation hours will be Wednesday February 21, from 5-8 pm at the Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church Soup Kitchen.
