F. Lamica dies at age 71

FRANCIS J. LAMICA, 71, of Moongate Nursing Home, Canton, died Thursday, June 19, 1980, in Potsdam Hospital where he had been a patient for a month.

Born in Malone June 22, 1908, he was the son of Philip and Alice Peacock Lamica. He attended Malone area schools and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War 2.

In 1946, he married the former Lucille Denney in Malone. The couple had always resided in Malone and he was employed by Malone Concrete Products. She predeceased him in 1976.

He more recently resided in the Moongate Nursing Home.

Survivors include three daughters, Alice Lamica of Malone, Mrs. Roy (Deborah) McMahon of Bombay, and Mrs. Dennis (Jeannie) Hurteau of North Bangor; two sons, William P. of Malone and John F. of Waddington; two step-sons, Ronald J. Denney of Massena and Robert E. Lamica of Rockville, Md.; two brothers, Chester of Malone and Ralph of Mechanicville, and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Brown, address unknown, and several grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Clarence and Louis.

Calling hours at the O'Leary Funeral Home, Canton, will be Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Canton, with the Rev. Griffith J. Billmeyer, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
