Grady G. Rodgers, 71, died at his home, on Kay Lane Sunday after a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wilson and Knight Chapel. Rev. B.C. Nunn will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Carrollton.
Mr. Rodgers was a retired telephone-telegraph maintenance man for the Illinois Central Railroad, serving in that capacity for 26 years. He had farming and cattle interests in Leflore and Carroll Counties and was a member of the Baptist Church. He had lived in Greenwood 21 years.
Mr. Rodgers is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred Shelton Rodgers; two daugliters, Mrs. Colleen Daves Green and Mrs. Frank Hodges both of Greenwood; two sisters. Mrs. Ellen McRae Baker of Tomball, Tex., and Mrs. Arline Roberts of Bay Minette, Ala.; two brothers J.Z. Rodgers of Greenville and Jesse O. Rodgers of Houston, Tex.; three grandchildren and three great- grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy E. Taylor, Billy Wright, Ernest Bryant, George W. Galey. George Young, Willie D. Fancher, J.T. Johnson and U.K. Stone.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Edwin Meek, Dr. S C. Mounger, Joe Dongelo, L.S. Hemphill Jr. and employees of Illinois Central Railroad.
