Violet was the daughter of Thomas and Violet Simmons. She moved to Las Vegas in 1962 and worked for many years in the Clark County District Attorney's Office as a legal secretary. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Valencia and Jerry Parr, both of Las Vegas, Ross Malonek of Upland, Indiana, and Jeanne Burdo of Prescott, Arizona; sister, Eleanor Simmons of Las Vegas; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
