Janet Elise Lupher

Janet Elise Lupher, 65, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 in Mesa.

She was born Oct. 3, 1938 in St. Johns. Her family moved to Portland, Oregon when she was an infant. Janet grew up and attended school in Portland. Following high school she enlisted in the Air force, following her term with the Air Force she enlisted in the Army where she served in Germany and the Vietnam War. Janet left the Army as a Sergeant. Following her military service she worked for Continental Telephone Company, first as an operator, then as a draftsman. She retired from the telephone company in 1990. Janet was a member of the Arizona Rangers where she was a Major and a life member of the Show Low VFW.

Janet is survived by her daughter, Roberta VanCleve of Mesa; sons, Roland Anselmo of Itaska, Illinois, Randal (Lupher) Anselmo of Holbrook; brother, Terry Turley of Mesa; sisters, Merla Sauwen of Woodruff, Leilani Wagerby of Gilbert, Kathleen Acunia of Portland, Oregon; mother, Marjorie Lupher of Woodruff; six grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11 at the Woodruff Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with a viewing one-hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Woodruff Cemetery.
