2003 Jul 8 - Cadillac - Jack Duane Nelson was born Wednesday 11 Nov 1946 in Cadillac to Louis R 'Louie' & Delcie (Yager) Nelson. He married Jeanette Saturday 27 Jun 1970 in Marion. He lived all of his life in Cadillac, graduating from Cadillac High School. He was employed at Rempco in Cadillac and Northwood Heat Treat for 19 years. He was a big time Manton Rangers basketball fan and also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and outdoor sports. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his wife, daughters and granddaughter.
Jack Duane Nelson of Cadillac died Tuesday 8 Jul 2003 at the age of 56 y 7 m 27 d at West Shore Hospital in Manistee. Survivors included his wife; 11 siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis 27 Mar 1971 & Delcie 21 Jun 1987; 2 brothers, Claud Nelson 14 Sep 1941, and Abe Nelson 5 Nov 1995; 1 sister Delcie Anderson 15 Oct 1995 & her husband Roy Devere Anderson 13 Apr 1998; and his father-in-law John C Miller.
Visitation was 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm Thursday 10 Jul 2003 at Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Funeral services were 1:30 pm Friday 11 Jul 2003 at Peterson Funeral Home with parish assistant Judy Coffey officiating.
Burial was in Cherry Grove Township Cemetery in Cadillac.
Memorial contributions were to be directed to the family. Envelopes were available at Peterson Funeral Home.
