Hugh P. Dixon was born at Sparta, North Carolina on December 19, 1891. At the age of eleven, he came to Amherst, Nebr., with his mother. He lived in that vicinity for the remainder of his life with the exception of 19 months in the armed forces, a year of which he spent in France.
On his return he was united in marriage with Ruth Haase, who departed this life July 2, 1946.
He leaves to mourn his loss two daughter: Mrs. Marjorie Kersting of Kearney, Mrs. Norma Gomez, Grand Island; one sister, Mrs. William Haberlein, a brother, William Dixon, Omaha, two grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends.
