Samuel Barber died at the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Gus and Eliza Buck, just north of Barbers Hill, Chambers County, Texas.
He was buried at the Gus Buck Place; although the exact location was not recorded, it was likely beside the Buck children who died in infancy and POSSIBLY beside Charles Welch and his wife Alcesta-who lived there previous to the Bucks. The grave-site of Samuel, unmarked, unknown, and substantially undisturbed for many years was found in 1994. The site is near, but not on Buck Gully-a short tributary of Old River in Texas. A marker was placed for him in the Amos Barber Cemetery of Mont Belvieu, Chambers County, Texas.
