DOWNES--Stephen A. Husband of the late Rose (nee McGuire). Son of the late Madge (Lynch) and Stephen. Survived by children Deirdre Fogler, Bernadette Coyle, Delia and Stephen, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Mary, Robert, Nicholas, Bernadette O'Shea, Helen, Anne Maguire and Joseph (USMC). Survived by siblings John, Thomas, William, Margaret Andino and many nieces and nephews. Stephen was in the first graduating class of Power Memorial Academy, veteran of WWII, retired B.C. of FDNY, trial attorney and past president of Division 2 A.O.H. Reposing at Gannon Funeral Home, 152 East 28th St., NYC on Wednesday from 2-4pm and 79pm. Funeral Mass at the Epiphany Church, E. 22nd St. and 2nd Ave., NYC on Thursday 10am. Interment Moravian Cemetery Staten Island, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations to Covenant House would be appreciated.
