Louisa's name is inscribed on the back side of the Hiram and Adaline Gardner large monument. Louisa was the first wife of Hiram. She also has a small individual footstone in the row with all three of Hiram's wives.

Died, at the residence of her brother-in-law, Joseph G. Lakenan, in Callaway county, Mo., on the morning of the 23d inst. Louisa R., wife of Hiram E. Gardner, of Sangamon county, Ill., aged 23 years and 11 days.
