Died, Thursday, Feb. 28, at 4 a.m., at his home, corner Ninth and Washington streets, Frank Hickox, aged 53 years. Mr. Hickox had been sick for the past six weeks, with the grip. He became better a short time ago and was able to be up town. He suffered a relapse and his life slowly ebbed away. The deceased was known by almost everybody in the city. At Foster's barn where he drove a carriage he was familiarly known as "Pap" Hickox. He had worked in this city in various livery barns for the past thirty years. He enjoyed the confidence of his employer and was well liked by those with whom he dealt. He leaves a widow and one son. IL State Journal, Springfield, Mar 1, 1895
