US Congressman. He was admitted to the bar 1777, opened a law practice in Stockbridge, Massachusetts and was a member of the State Constitutional Convention in 1779 and 1780. Between 1780 and 1793 he served eight terms as member of the State House of Representatives. He also was a member of the State Senate eight times between 1781 to 1806. In 1801 he was elected as a Republican to the Seventh Congress, serving until 1803. He was father of US Congressman Ezekiel Bacon and grandfather of US Congressman William Johnson Bacon.
