Mrs. Cook was born to the late Sara Frances "Sallie" Taylor and John Dee Griffith. She had been a resident of Mt. Airy all her life and was retired from Spencer's where she worked for 40 years. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Mt. Airy. She enjoyed many hobbies such as gardening, canning and reading. Surviving are one daughter, grandsons, two nieces, two nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bernie Cook, four brothers, Will, Carl, Edgar, and Conce Griffith; two sisters, Deanna Coleman and Jennie Beasley; one nephew, Charles William "Billy" Coleman. Mrs. Cook, died at the home of her daughter.
