Died, at her home, Calhoun street and Patton avenue, at 6 a.m., Friday, Dec. 25, of consumption of the throat, Miss Carrie Vance, aged 28 years. The deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Vance, and she is survived by her parents and one brother, Carl Vance of this city. She was born near Carlinville and had resided in Springfield about five years. Many friends will regret to learn of her death. Miss Vance was a consistent Christian and her illness was marked with perfect patience and resignation.
Funeral services will be held at the residence today and will be conducted by Rev. A. P. Cobb, pastor of the Christian church, assisted by Elder S. C. Pruitt. IL State Journal, Springifeld, IL 12-26-1896
