ABBOTT.--Hannah, wife of Hiram Abbott, was born in Amity, Allegany County, New York, November 4, 1804, married to Brother Abbott, January 2d, 1825, and died within a few rods of her birth-place, April 28th, 1860, in the 56th year of her age. She was converted twenty-six years ago--baptized by the writer, and identified herself with the Methodist Episcopal Church. From that time until her death, she sustained the character of a devoted Christian, a kind neighbor, a true wife, and an affectionate mother. But "in the midst of life we are in death." This was emphatically true of Sister Abbott. While at work in the dooryard with her usual health, she suddenly dropped to the ground and instantly expired. This unexpected bereavement seems scarcely endurable to the stricken family, yet they are consoled with the assurance that she was prepared for the event, and that sudden death to her was sudden heaven.
