I appreciate all contributions to my beloved husband. Bill Lawson was the kindest, most thoughtful, and best looking man I ever knew. He lived his faith as a Christian and no one doubted him. One day he said to me "I am going into the office and write my obituary."

Indeed, I was shocked. When he finished he asked me to read it. It was perfect except not enough about Bill and I asked if I could write something about his life and he said: "Only a little more." That was Bill! He did approve what I wrote which was about his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

The order of family members which was published in Dallas Morning News Obituary Section was exactly as he wrote it. He wrote that I, (Carol Ann Lawson), was the love of his life and his wife. He wrote about our dog: Maple. (Maybe our Alaskan Malamute is the only dog to be listed as a survivor in obituaries!) Then he wrote that my son was surviving him. Bill always thought of Tim as his son. He never referred to my son as his step son. When Bill met Tim he told him he wanted to be his friend and so they were excellent friends and there was never one disagreement or argument between them. They traveled together, enjoyed football games, did big chores at our home and Tim did some legal work for Bill. Bill's nature was very gentle and was a tremendous help to Tim as he started his law practice and became a patent attorney.

They enjoyed so many things together and I am grateful for their activities. My son worked with the Rector and they decided on the arrangement of Bill's funeral together. Bill trusted Tim and Tim trusted Bill. He never thought of Tim as step-son nor our grandbaby as step-grandson. Bill listed his children from previous marriages in the Obituary. I think Bill would be greatly insulted that his words were changed. I again refer you to the Dallas Morning News. Bill and I shared an unconditional love which is very rare. My life is blessed to have been the "love of his life." Thanks to all for every beautiful posting. As I say to everyone: What a wonderful world it would be if every human received the type of love Bill had for me and that I gave to him. Bill was always my sweetheart! We were always in love. We were affectionate in public and private. Bill had many pet names for me. A very unique expression of his love was that he kissed my hand often! Vian Lawson put together some lovely floral arrangements and arranged for Bill's coffin to be delivered to funeral home. The Rector from Church of Incarnation brought the main message and Tim, Bill, and I shared personal thoughts. The funeral was well attended. At the cemetery the Army Air Force played beautifully. May Jesus bless each of you and may you be kept by His mercy. My prayer is that we will meet someday in heaven. Thank you so much for your contributions.
