Rev. David Culp was the grandson of Johann Christian Kolb (? - 1774). He was the son of Christopher and Frances Culp. Margaret (House) Culp was his 1st wife. They were married September 18, 1804. Margaret died October 13, 1856. Elizabeth Ann (Anderson) Culp was his 2nd wife. They were married March 10, 1857. Elizabeth died June 16, 1871. Rev. Culp was a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church: Genesee (Western New York)/now Upper New York) Conference 1813 F 1815 To Canada at organization 1824 Located 1825. Rev. Culp was one of the noted Five who in 1834 met at Cummer's meeting house Yonge Street and organized the present Methodist Episcopal Church of Canada.

"Rev. David Culp's stone is located in the first row of monuments on the left side, approximately halfway along the central pathway into the cemetery at the top of William Street (older monuments are in this section). This information is based on the records we hold for the cemetery that were compiled by the Hamilton Branch O.G.S. in 1977. At that time there was a comment that older markers are often lying flat, which is never a good sign, so I cannot guarantee that the Culp marker is upright or even still visible"
