MOS:11B10 Infantryman.
When William enlisted in the US Army he was
living with his mother in Philadelphia.
Arriving in Vietnam 14 October 1967 he was
assigned to C Company,3rd Battalion,60th
Infantry,9th Infantry Division,USARV.
C Company was participating in Operation IV
in the Cai Be District,Dinh Tuong Province
and were engaged by hostile forces.The Army
lost 20 men including William.He died as a
result of hostile gunshot wounds to the body.
His body was recovered and identfied January
13.
William died 7 days before his 19th birthday.
Survived by his mother,Margaret B Bridgeford
of 4234 Wallace St,Philadelphia,PA.
