RAVENSWOOD - Everett Paul Lemon, 80, of Ravenswood died Jan. 6, 2004, at Jackson General Hospital, Ripley.

He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Wood County, the son of the late Rockford L. and Edith Pearl Dye Lemon. He retired in 1984 from the State of West Virginia, Department of Natural Resources as superintendent of golf course operations. He was a member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. He was most known locally for designing and building Greenhills Country Club Golf Course in Ravenswood and serving as the professional there. He is also noted for designing many courses in West Virginia, most notably Pipestem State Park, Twin Falls State Park, Cacapon State Park and Canaan Valley State Park, as well as several others throughout West Virginia.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori Lemon of Michigan; two grandchildren, Erica and Kyle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Violet; a daughter, Pamela; and a sister, Helen Holtz.

Service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, with the Rev. Robert Osborne officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg. Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m., the time of service, Saturday at the funeral home.
