HORSE CAVE — Christine Nunn Galloway, 88, of Danville, formerly of Horse Cave, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
She retired after 35 years as a teacher for the Hart County School System and was a member of the Kentucky Retired Teacher’s Association and the National Education Association. She was a member of Fort Logan Church of Christ in Stanford and a former member of Bearwallow Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Nunn and Bessie Harlow Nunn; her husband, Garvin T. Galloway in 1987; a brother, Otis Nunn; and a sister, Ruby Adams.
Survivors include two sons, Wayne (Phyllis) Galloway of Stanford and Micky (Donna) Galloway of Lancaster, Calif.; four grandchildren, Daniel and David Galloway, Elizabeth Burden and Christi Peters; three great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jake and Emma; a sister, Ruth Slaughter of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, in the chapel of Winn Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery.
Visitation is 6-9 p.m. today at Winn Funeral Home and after 8 a.m. Friday until funeral time.
