James and Winifred had daughters Winifred and Flora. James and Winifred Lee Hamilton Bishop had a daughter, Mary Lee Bishop Kourmadas. Mary's husband, John, was also a member of the CMA history department. Mabel's son from her previous marriage, Nathan Weller Stroup, III, was a 1949 CMA, (Co. B) graduate.
