Joseph was living with his parents when he
drafted into the US Army.
When Joseph arrived in Vietnam 3 July 1969
he was assigned B Company,2nd Battalion,7th
Calvary,1st Calvary Division,USAR.While on a
patrol B Company encountered hostile forces
10 kilometers southeast of Bo Toc on Route
426 in the vicinity of Fire Support Base Jamie.
Joseph died of multiple fragmentation wounds
to the body from hostile claymore mines.The
company lost 6 soldiers during the fighting.
