Fred R. Edwards

Minneapolis - The funeral for Fred R. Edwards, 68, Minneapolis, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis, the Rev. King David officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Glendale Cemetery, Sylvia, Kan.

Mr. Edwards died Monday at Ottawa County Hospital, Minneapolis. He was born Oct. 15, 1918 at Sylvia. He moved to Minneapolis nine years ago from Reno County. He was a freelance photographer and writer for various newspapers and all three Wichita television stations. He had been assistant editor of the Lamar, Colo., Daily News and the High Plains Journal and a newsman and photographer for the Ulysses News. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Minneapolis.

Surviving re his wife, Gloria, of the home; two sons, Chester Edwards, North Platte, Neb., and Eddie Smith, Yuma, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Nola Gorham, Rockport, Tex.; Mrs. Debbie Boyd, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Vicki Gillespie, Salina; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Welch, Hutchinson and Mrs. Pauline Durham, Harper, and 11 grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the church. Friends may call at Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis.
