Argentine Army General. As Brigadier General and commander of the Argentine Air Force, he was a member of the Junta that overthrew the government of Isabel Peron in 1976, along with General Jorge Videla and Admiral Eduardo Massera. In 1984 he was sentenced to prison for his role in the repression, punishment served between October 1984 and May 1989.
