1995 Apr 4 - Kewadin - Lucy May Hankins was born Tuesday 28 Apr 1908 in Stanton to John Henry & Lucille May (Wagner) Hankins. Later on she changed her name to Lucille May Hankins. She had been a resident of Kewadin since 1936 where she owned Redman's Selected Greens and Boughs from 1934-1973. She married Fred Martin Burt Sr Monday 18 Aug 1924 in Cadillac. After his death she married Arnold A Redman Sr Tuesday 23 Jun 1931 in Crown Point, Indiana.

Lucille May (Hankins, Burt) Redman of Kewadin died Monday 4 Apr 1988 at the age of 79 y 11 m 7 d at Traverse City Osteopathic Hospital in Traverse City. Survivors included 2 sons, Arnold Albert & Marsha M Redman Jr of Elk Rapids and Robert Redman of Yoakum, Texas; 1 daughter, Gladys Marie & Eric Torfinn Olafsson Sr of Mesick; 1 sister, Nina Ann Byers of Buckley; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred 15 Aug 1984; second husband, Arnold 25 Jun 1975; 4 sons, Frank Deloris Burt 25 Apr 1926, Fred Junior Burt 29 Aug 1932, Ronald Redman 12 Mar 1939, and Roger Dale Redman 10 Feb 2014; 6 brothers, John De Lancie Hankins 26 Apr 1973, Fredie Hankins 28 Jun 1900, Wallace Raymond Hankins 28 Nov 1986, Robert Louis Hankins 22 Sep 1976, Ernest Cleveland Hankins 18 Feb 1985, and Donald W Hankins; 2 sisters, Lula Viola Castle 05 Jul 1985 and Infant Baby Hankins 20 Dec 1920; and 1 granddaughter, Terri-Lea Redman 07 Jun 1963.

Visitation was 7-9 pm Thursday 06 Apr 1988 at Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes in Elk Rapids. Funeral services were Friday 11 am 08 Apr 1988 at the Elk Rapids Chapel of Covell Funeral Homes with Rev Michael Baker-Streevy officiating.

Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids.

Memorial contributions were to be directed to the Lucille Redman Memorial Fund.
