Hilary Clark died in the Cholera Epidemic at St. Mary's College as a student.

His parents were Ignatius Clark, Jr. and Aloysia (Hill) Clark.

He was a great-nephew of Bishop Edward Fenwick, O.P., the founder of St. Rose Priory, near Springfield.

His brother Rev. Fr. Edward A. Clark spent part of his priestly life as a missionary in Texas.
His oldest sister was the wife of Martha's ancestor, Dr. Thomas G. Elder, of San Antonio, Texas.

Hilary had three sister who were sisters of Loretto, Sisters Isabella, Rosalia, and Eleanor, founding members at Little Loretto, near St. Charles Church.
