Nan M. Briegge, 88, of Perry, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Melvin and Pearl (Hill) Johnston. She was born on January 22, 1919 in De Queen, Arkansas and died Friday, July 20, 2007 at the Perry Memorial Hospital.
On March 15, 1958, Nan married Adolph W. Briegge in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1989.
Nan raised three children. She was president of the Women's Democrat Club of Noble County and Vice President of the Women's Democrat Club of the State of Oklahoma. She enjoyed attending National Democrat Conventions. She was also a member of the Christ Lutheran Church, an honorary member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the Garden Club and Friendship Force.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Perry. Rev. William Metz will officiate. Interment will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
Nan is survived by one son, Don Cole and his wife, Jana, of Perry, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, James Cole of Leesburg, Florida, Kelley Cole of Perry, Oklahoma, Michael Cole of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mark Cole of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Teresa Austell of Perry, Oklahoma, Tonya Bradbury of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Kenny Cole and Kim Cole, both of Gulfport, Mississippi, Kyle Black and John Black, both of Enid, Oklahoma; fifteen great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph Briegge; one daughter, Beverly Brown; one son, Kenneth Cole; one grandson, Donald Cole, Jr.; her parents, Melvin and Pearl Johnston; three sisters and one brother.
