Harley Lee Hofeditz was born in Madison, Wisconsin on October 14, 1923, to Seighard Hofeditz and Lucille Hofeditz.
In 1942, he enlisted in the Marine Corps and promoted to the rank of corporal. He was sent overseas December 3, 1942. Corporal Hofeditz was killed in action on April 7, 1943, near the Solomon Island area. After his death, he was awarded the Purple Heart. His gravesite in unknown.
