David Alicea was a Sergeant in the United States Army. He served in Company E, 8th. Cavalry, 1st. Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War.

He was killed in action in the Tay Ninh Province of South Vietnam and was awarded a Bronze Star Medal, an Air Medal and a Purple Heart Medal for his military services. He was 27 years old.
