He was born in Screven County, was a retired farmer and retired from civil service at Fort Benning. He was a member of Middle Ground Baptist Church and served as the church groundskeeper for more than 20 years.
SURVIVORS: three sisters, Lucy McGee Sheppard of Savannah, Ruth McGee Gay of Sylvania and Mary Alice McGee Stuart of Augusta; and a number of nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 7-9 p.m. today at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home in Sylvania.
GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Thursday in Middle Ground Baptist Church Cemetery in Sylvania.
