James G. "Dick" Stanley, III. passed away on May 15, 2008 at his home in West Monroe, after battling pancreatic cancer.

"Dick" Stanley was born October 9, 1942 in Lake Providence, Louisiana. He was a 30 year employee of the U. S. Postal Service, retiring as supervisor. He served his country in the United States Air Force and is a Veteran of the Vietnam War.
Dick was an avid golfer, loved to play the horses, Texas hold'em, and a musician for years, playing drums.
He is survived by one brother, John Winters Stanley, and preceded in death by both his mother and father, James G. Stanley, Jr. and Anita Winters Stanley.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon "Rosie" Stanley. He leaves behind one daughter, Anita Stanley Adams and husband Sam; three stepdaughters, Stephanie LaFaye Langston Guidry, Sharon Noel Gremillion Milne and husband John, and Lesleigh Cascile Hopkins, one step-son Samuel Langston and wife Sherry; one grandson, Brock Adams; six step-grandchildren, Samantha Dawn Langston, William Grant Langston, Victoria LaFaye Guidry, Zachary Smith, Kyla Cascile Milne, and John Andrew Milne; and a host of friends, including lifelong friends Paul McKenney and Robert Harwood.
Pallbearers will be Robert Harwood, Paul McKenney, Ben Rollins, Sam Langston, Marcus Salter, and Ernest Nolan, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ernest O. Nolan and D. K. Allen.
Graveside Services will be 4:00 PM Sunday, May 18, 2008 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA with Rev. Don DeLukie officiating. Casual attire was requested by the decedent.
