Della was born on Oct. 16, 1884 in Jewell, Defiance County, Ohio. Her father, John Durham, was born in 1827 in Chillicothe, Ross County, Ohio. Martha Ann Welder, Della's mother, was born in 1846 in Ahsland County, Ohio.

One record shows that Della married Albert A. Obenland on July 17, 1907, while another record says they were married on Jan. 1, 1907. The bride was 22 years old. Her groom was 25.

They had 11 children, three of whom died in infancy. The children who did not survive were a daughter, Destimona, a son Wilbur and another son whose name is unknown. Their other children are Dorthy Dora, Laura, Dora Mae, Katherine, Florence, Christian, Grace and Stella.

The 1920 Federal Census shows that they had 7 daughters and one son living with them. Laura C., Dora M., Catherine M., and Florence M.V. were all born in Ohio. Their son Christian H, and daughters Doretha D., Grace N., and Stella M. were all born after they moved to Illinois.

Della died on Feb. 23, 1960 in Hoopeston, Vermillion County, IL. She is buried in Ranklin Union Cemetery, Vermillion County, IL.
