Verle Adams dies at Home in Brown Co.

Verle Boyd Adams, 65, husband of Alverda Adams, died at 7:15 a.m. today at his home at Elkinsville in Brown county. He lived in Bartholomew and Jennings counties until three years ago.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Reed funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Garnet Jewell. Burial will be at Garland Brook cemetery. Persons may call at the funeral home after noon Sunday.

Survivors are the wife; a daughter, Mrs. Catherine West, 4102 Brookville road, Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Mrs. Beverle Kennedy and Robert Patterson West, Jr., both of Indianapolis; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lester Adams of Los Angeles.

He was a member of Shiloh Baptist church. He was born April 13, 1900, in Rockcreek township to Marion F. and Maude Griffin Adams. He and the former Alverda Taylor were married Aug. 28, 1919. He was a retired farmer.

A brother, Clarence, and a sister, Mrs. Homer Burns, preceded him in death.
