DEATH CLAIMS MRS. ALFORD, 88
Well Known Resident of This City Dies After Several Weeks Illness

Mrs. Mary Alford, 88, widow of Richard F. Alford, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mattie Doss, 1537 Pearl street, following an illness of several weeks duration.

Funeral services will be held at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock conducted by the Rev. Geo. T. King. Burial will be made in Garland Brook cemetery.

Mrs. Alford was born and reared at Lexington, Ky., and lived there until, 1901, when she and her daughters came to this city. Her husband passed away several years before she moved here. Mrs. Alford was a member of the Baptist church and attended regularly as long as her health permitted. She was a good woman and was especially devoted to her family.

Surviving besides Mrs. Doss, is another daughter, Miss Sue Alford, at home; one grandson, S. J. Doss, Indianapolis newspaperman, and two brothers, William and John Berry, of Lexington, Ky.
