Professional Football Player. After playing football for Wake Forest, he joined the Marines in World War II. He played on the Georgia Pre-flight Skycrackers service team in 1944 and the Fleet Marine Force Pacific team in Hawaii in 1945. After the war, he was drafted in the second round of the NFL draft by the New York Giants. He played a full season at guard and linebacker for the Buffalo Bisons in 1946 in the All America Football Conference. He played two years for the Detroit Lions in 1947 and 1948. After football, he worked as an inspector in a General Motors plant in Michigan before retiring in the mid-1970s.
