Clifford Stiffler, 73, a resident of Taneytown, died Sunday morning at the Annie Warner hospital in Gettysburg. He was the son of the late William and Sena Kessler Stiffler. He suffered from a heart condition and had been a patient at the hospital for the past few days.
Stiffler is survived by his wife, Crissie Mae Stiffler and by two sons, Clifford Stiffler Jr of Fairless Hills, PA and William C. Stiffler of Washington, D.C.
Also surviving are two grandchildren and one great grandson; two sisters Mrs. Bernie Berringer of Uniontown, PA and Mrs. Bertha Gibbons of Los Angelos, CA.
The deceased was a member of the Taneytown Presbyterian church. He came to Taneytown from Vandergrift, PA about six years ago. He was employed by the United States Steel Co. and had retired after 25 years of service whereupon he moved to Frederick.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 pm Rev. William Hendricks, his pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Methodist Church Cemetery in Uniontown, PA., Indiana County.
