A native of Cincinnati, he was a retired Norfolk & Western Railroad locomotive engineer and a member of Manly United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Lucy Alexander Orth; three sons, Lt. Col. James Orth of Warner Robbins, GA, Burl Orth, of Hamilton, Ohio, and Thomas Orth 2007 Baird Ave, Portsmouth, Ohio; four daughters, Mrs. Mildred (Howard) McCall of Butler, PA, Mrs. Melba (Melvin) Clapham of Westerville, Ohio, Mrs. Dora Mae (Reginald) Huffman of 1652 Seventh St, Portsmouth, Ohio and Mrs. Phyllis (Jack) Sparks of Wheelersburg, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are to be conducted at 2pm Friday at Daehler Funeral Home with the Rev. Pyles officiating. Interment is to be in Memorial Burial Park, Wheelersburg.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7-9 tonight and from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday.
