Charles Ahner was born 13 January 1843 in Franklin Township, Carbon Co. He died 27 January 1908 in Long Run. His occupation was a carpenter.
He was a soldier in the Civil war between 1861-1865 and was wounded in the shoulder at the battle of Antiquam. His invalid pension began 21 August 1890.

Long Run: Charles H. Ahner died Monday night 27 January 1908 at his home at Long Run after a brief illness. Age 65 years 15 days. He was the father of 16 children, Thirteen of whom survive with his widow. During the rebellion he served his country as a member of Co. G 132nd. Pa. Volunteers. His funeral will be held at One O'Clock this Friday Afternoon conducted by George H. R. Dellecker. Internment in Union Hill Cemetery.

The funeral of the late Charles Ahner was held from his home at Long Run last Friday Afternoon and was largely attended. Services were held in the United Evangelical Church of which the deceased was a faithful member, Conducted by the Pastor Rev. G. R. Dellecker. Six of his sons were the Pall bearers. Viz: Odillion, Edwin, James, Robert, Charles and Milton. Internment was made in Union Hill Cemetery.
