The son of Rev. Jonathan & Phebe (Griswold) Parsons (Rev. Jonathan was a "New Light" Congregational preacher in Lyme and later in Marlow, New Hampshire.), he was a wealthy man who owned a tavern in Lyme. Their son: John Parsons.
He married Lois Waite, 9 Oct. 1755; Abigail Marvin, 20 Nov. 1766; Abigail Waterman, 15 Jan. 1783 and Phebe Taber Griffin, 10 Oct. 1793.
