Lincoln, Jan. 31. - George T. Gibbs, 77, aged farmer of near Greenview, died at 3:30 o'clock Sunday morning from pneumonia.

He was born in Baltimore, Md., Feb. 13, 1840 [sic].

The Gibbs family came to Illinois seventy years ago.

Surviving are his wife and the following children: Mrs. Addie Burns, Grant Gibbs, Jessie Knowls [sic], and Carrie Estill, of Greenview; Mary, at home; Mrs. Ella Snyder, of Middletown; Mrs. Sadie Price, of Fancy Prairie; and Mrs. Minnie Means, of Springfield. He has one sister, Mrs. Ella Myers in Washington, D.C. and twenty-six grandchildren.

Rev. E.A. Powell conducted funeral services at the Irish Grove Presbyterian church.

Burial was in Irish Grove cemetery.
