Professional Golfer. A native of Berwick, Pennsylvania, he won 15 events during his career on the PGA Tour and finished in the top 10 eleven-times. He won the 1955 Texas Open and set a then record with a 257 total score. While attending Duke University, Souchak excelled at golf and football (achieving All-Conference status) with the Blue Devils. He was inducted into their Sports Hall of Fame in 1976. In addition, he was a member of the US Ryder Cup team in 1959 and 1961. He died from a heart attack in Florida.
