Adelia married three times. First husband was Mortimer William Hamilton (1814 -1868, m. 1840). Second husband Gov. James Emelius Broome (1808-1883, m. 1873), former third Governor of Florida. Third husband, James Ferguson (1814-1907, m. 1894). Adelia purchased GW Lot 9343 in August 1855, and her sister Maria Kinnier Pomeroy was the first burial there in December 1855. There were 26 interments during 1855-1960. Adelia took into her home several family children over time as their parents died of illness, and was somewhat of a matriarch for the family, but she had no children of her own. She installed the "Mortimer" statue on Lot 9343 in 1868 after her first husband died, which also acknowledges the death of her sister Maria Kinnier Pomeroy, her mother Sarah Betts Kinnier, her niece Adelia Kinnier Pomeroy, her nephew Paris Rhodes Pomeroy, Jr. (Maria's children), her grandmother Rachel Rodney, and possibly some others. Most of the marble statue monument pedestal inscriptions have faded, but they were recorded in 1932 and can be found on-line.

Any additional information about Adelia and her Kinnier/Betts/Rodney/Tolefree ancestors is very welcome.
