STUMP, Mary J. Petross – The News regrets to chronicle the death of Mrs. Z.T. Stump which occurred Sunday at Tuscahoma, I.T. The remains were brought up on the morning train Tuesday and were interred in Bluff Cemetery in the afternoon at 1o'clock.

Funeral services were held at the residence of C. Petross, being conducted by Elds. J.R. Loving and Jas. Dodson. Notwithstanding the inclemency of the weather a large number of citizens were present to pay a last tribute to the memory of the departed. The K. of P. Lodge attended in a body.

Mrs. Stump was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Petross of this city and was a good woman, admired and respected by all who knew her. She leaves a husband, several children and other relatives, and to them The News tenders sympathy. Mrs. Mary J. Stump, wife of Mr. Z.T. Stump. Died of typho-malarial fever at Tuscahoma, I.T. Dec. 11, inst. She was the eldest daughter of our esteemed townsman, Mr. C. Petross, at whose house the funeral services were conducted by Elds. Loving and Dodson at 1 o'clock p.m. and immediately after her remains were silently conveyed to Bluff Cemetery followed by a large number of grief stricken relatives and sympathizing friends and there deposited to await the bugles call on resurrection morning.
