Santos played in the Veteran's Band and was a coach and umpired for soccer, baseball and basketball teams. He was involved with C.C.D. classes at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. He was also the Director of Mariachi De Oro; the first youth mariachi of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Santos is preceded in death by his father, Jose Luis Rodriguez and his brother, Jose Rodriguez.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 38 years, Felipita "Phyllis" Rodriguez; son, Eduardo (Martha) Rodriguez of Corpus Christi, Texas; his mother, Sofia Rivera of Houston, Texas; brothers and sisters: Ramona Rodriguez, Rachel (Tony) Johnson, Janie Rodriguez, Aurora Lazaro, Cindy Rivera, Roque Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, George (Linda) Rodriguez and Marcus Rivera all of the Houston area; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation and a rosary service were held on July 17 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A funeral mass was celebrated on July 18 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment followed at Seaside Memorial Park.
