Mrs. Sid J. Gates is Laid to Rest at Her Old Home

The special coach bearing the body of Mrs. Sid J. Gates, who died of pneumonia Saturday night at the Norton Memorial Infirmary, left Louisville for Smithfield at 1:20 o’clock yesterday morning. Twenty-five friends formed the funeral party which accompanied the body form this city.
The funeral took place at Smithfield at 9 o’clock yesterday morning. The Rev. J. C. Gray, pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Eminence, conducted the services. The burial was in the Smithfield cemetery. The active pall-bearers were as follows:
Homer F. Frost, W. H. Gates, W. C. Wheeler, Capt. Americus Whedon*, Theodore Drane and Marcus Blakemore.
