Homer N. Stahl was the son of Curtis Melvin and Maud Ellen (Newcomer) Stahl. He was born in Pierceton, Indiana on April 6, 1902 and came to Milwaukie after living in Portland and Vancouver, Wash. He served one enlistment in the U.S. Army and then entered the Navy where he served for 22 years retiring in 1944. He married Lena Althea Meissner on April 6, 1947 in Vancouver, Clark Co., WA. Mr. Stahl was a member of post No. 180 American Legion. Homer N. Stahl, 62, 4314 SE Pinehurts St., Milwukie, died in the U.S. Veterans Hospital Saturday. Funeral was held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Peake Memorial Chapel with Rev. Herbert E. Morris of Oak Grove Methodist Church officiating. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Lena Althea Stahl, Milwaukie, one son, R. V. Meissner, Milwaukie; two daughters, Mrs. Jean Lemme, Pennsylvania and Mrs. Margaret Hunter, Corvallis; one sister, Mrs. Wanetta Engleman; two brothers, Ray Stahl and Earl Stahl, all of Indiana, 11 grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Vault interment was in Willamette National Cemetery.
