Musician. Along with Art Ferrante, they formed the popular piano duo "Ferrante and Teicher". They are best known for their rendition of movie theme scores, which include the top 10 hits "Theme From The Apartment" (1960), "Exodus" (1960), "Tonight" (from "West Side Story", 1961) and "Midnight Cowboy" (1969). Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, he studied at The Juilliard School in New York as a child where he met Ferrante. They would perform and tour for more than 40 years from the late 1940s to the late 1980s and sold millions of records worldwide. They would become a familiarity on television during the 1960s, appearing on numerous programs including "The Dinah Shore Chevy Show", "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" and "Toast of the Town". Teicher died from heart failure at his home in North Carolina.
