Daughter of Ewald & Christina Laun.

Born and died in Ulster Township, Floyd County, Iowa.

"The Charles City (Iowa) Intellegencer," Thursday, 6 August 1903, page 6:

"LAUN-Died, at her home in West St. Charles, July 30, 1903, Miss Ora Laun, aged 16 years and 11 months. [Death record says 15 years, 11 months.]

Miss Ora was a bright, loving young girls and will be sadly missed by her relatives and companions.

She was sick with spinal meningitis and had been sick for about three weeks. All that was possible was done for her, but to no avail. She is survived be her parents, Mr. & Mrs. Edwald Laun; also four brothers and two sisters. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

Funeral service were conducted in the German Methodist E. Church in West ST. Cahrles Sunday at 2:30 by Rev. F. Wellemeyer"


Cause of Death: Ossification -- death certificate
Medical Information "...she evidently was in such pain the doctor could hear her screaming as he drove up to the house."
