Vera Bell Robbins, 87, of Robbins, passed away August 4, 2008, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County in Oneida. Born in Scott County, February 2, 1921, she was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Annie Owens Barnett; her husband, Harold Virgil Robbins; daughter Dorothy Ann Adkins; infant son, Richard Gaylon Robbins; and brothers, Hoyt and Howard Barnett. She was the oldest living chartered member of East Robbins Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Gerald Douglas Robbins and special daughter-in-law, Oma, of Robbins; five daughters: Myrna K. Gibson and husband, Jack, of Sunbright, Marion N. Wright of Knoxville, Barbara Sue Williams and husband, Terry, of Elgin, Sherry Lynn Robbins of Robbins, and Etta Marie Adkisson and husband, Keith, of Wartburg; special grandson, Christopher Robbins; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives. The family was to have received friends from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 6, at Huntsville Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Eli Crowley officiating. Music was to have been provided by the Hamby Brothers. Interment was to have followed at A.J. Robbins Cemetery. Huntsville Memorial Funeral Chapel had charge of arrangements.
